Blackhawks Special Hockey Set To Host Informational Event Tuesday At MB Ice Arena
Chicago, IL (August 15, 2018) – The Chicago Blackhawks Special Hockey Program will capitalize on Chicago’s last few months of sunny weather with an exciting informational event next week held at MB Ice Arena – Chicago Blackhawks Community Rink (1801 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago IL 60612).
On Tuesday, August 21, Blackhawks Special Hockey will host an afternoon of street hockey as an informational platform in the Chicago Blackhawks Inflatable from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Dedicated to providing children and adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to play hockey, Blackhawks Special Hockey encourages all interested parties – both participants and parents – to attend what will be a fun-filled day of street hockey. Volunteer staff and coaches representing the organization will be on-site to provide information and answer questions about one of Chicagoland’s premier special hockey programs.
“This is a fun-filled opportunity for individuals to learn more about the Chicago Blackhawks Special Hockey Program,” said volunteer director Melanie Freeman. “If you are a potential athlete, parent, friend, or potential volunteer, we welcome you to MB Ice Arena to play a little street hockey and learn more about the organization.”
Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to see the various community spaces at MB Ice Arena, which is not only the practice home for the Chicago Blackhawks, but a critical space that offers educational programming, beginner hockey classes, youth and adult hockey leagues, and public skate. The new 125,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility houses two regulation- sized NHL rinks as well as multipurpose rooms, food and beverage options, and a fitness center.
